In 2006 the Northland Kauri Festival was superbly promoted throughout New Zealand by Destination Northland, engaging public interest from extensive media coverage. Additionally, the Festival was featured in Tourism New Zealand's What's on in New Zealand Festival Campaign specifically targeting the Australian travel market and figures show a significant increase in the number of visitors to the region.

In 2007 the Northland Kauri Festival aims to grow higher, spread its roots deeper and develop a programme that will continue to strengthen its position and sustainability.
